RUSSIA: Moscow Photo Dump

I visited Moscow and stayed with a good friend of mine, Alex and her boyfriend Vova in their cozy little Soviet flat. Alex and Vova brought me to the usual Moscow sights: Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral, and Lenin’s Mausoleum to see the embalmed body of the beloved communist leader. Moscow doesn’t cater much to tourists, and if you don’t speak Russian its nearly impossible to get around on your own. I absolutely loved this city, it is worth visiting just to witness daily life in Post-Soviet Russia. Moscow is a modern city that had been isolated— both politically and culturally— from the rest of the world until 20 years ago, and still doesn’t see much reason to embrace the fashion and other cultural standards of the rest of the world.
